Cataract SurgeryYour Experience

Cataract surgery involves a preoperative visit where your doctor will explain cataract surgery in detail and answer any questions you may have.

At that visit, the eyes are measured to determine the best lens implants choice for you. There are eye drops which are prescribed for you to be taken before and after your contact surgery. You will be given written instructions at this visit which usually takes place a week or two before the surgery.

Cataracts procedures are performed in an outpatient surgical setting and typically there is a mild intravenous sedative.

There are minimal restrictions afterwards and people can usually drive the next day and return to work soon after cataract surgery.
